ASE (Advanced Standing Evaluation)

ASE reports display transfer work that does not display on DARS reports. [ASE reports are available to students who attended SFSU prior to Fall 2014 (if applicable)].

The Advanced Standing Evaluation (ASE) shows transfer work from non-DARS schools. This may include AP exam credit from high school and Military Service credit. The ASE will only show progress towards General Education requirements. Seek an advisor within your major/minor department for progress towards completion of major/minor requirements.

ASE reports have been discontinued starting with the Fall 2012 semester for all new incoming students (see above). Current students who started their academic career at SFSU before Fall 2012 may still have an ASE (Advanced Standing Evaluation) for some of their transfer course work. Students with both an ASE and a DARS report should use both documents together to evaluate progress toward completing their degree.

To order an ASE report, go to the Registrar's counter at One Stop Student Services (SSB 101) with a picture ID and ASE request form. There is no charge. Please note that not all ASE reports are available on demand. [ASE reports are available to students who attended SFSU prior to Fall 2014 (if applicable).]

DARs (Degree Audit Report)

Reports from the former Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) are available to students who attended prior to Fall 2014. Note: Enrollment data is current through Summer 2014.

The Degree Audit Report System (DARS) report indicates your progress toward completing your SFSU General Education requirements and your major program. Incoming students who matriculated Fall 2012 at SFSU will have their transfer course work in the DARS system for all U.S. regionally accredited colleges and universities. International course work as well as courses from non-accredited institutions will not be available on DARS but will be reflected on an ASE.

Students who began their academic career at SFSU before Fall 2012 may still have an ASE (Advanced Standing Evaluation) for some of their transfer course work. Students with both an ASE and a DARS report should use both documents together to evaluate their progress toward completing their degree.
