Welcome back! The information below will assist students who have received a degree from SF State.

What is an SF State Transcript?

Your SF State Transcript contains all of the academic work completed at San Francisco State University including courses completed through the College of Extended Learning. Students who attended after Spring 1985 have online access to their record.

  • Unofficial transcripts are available for free in the online student center. Please see the tabs below for SF State Gateway and SF State Password Reset. 
  • Official transcripts are available for purchase. For more information please visit our Transcript information page.

What is an SF State Password?

You will need an SF State Password to access the SF State Gateway and Student Center to view or order your transcript.

  • Reset your password by using SF State's password Self Service site.
  • If there are any issues in getting a password then use our contact form for assistance.

What is the SF State Gateway?

The SF State Gateway provides online access to: 

  • Parchment, where you can order your official SF State Transcript 
  • The Student Center where you can view your unofficial transcripts.  

You will need your SF State Password to access the SF State Gateway. Please refer to the SF State Password tab above.

Can I obtain a copy of my SF State diploma?

Yes, if you have been awarded a bachelor’s degree at SFSU, you can order a replacement diploma for a fee. A new diploma will contain your original graduation date, your major, and your minor.

  • Diploma orders are only placed once a month. Your order should reach our office by the 1st Friday of the month to be included in the current month’s order.
  • Diplomas take 6 – 8 weeks for delivery.  Expedited Service is available for an additional fee.

Master's diplomas are ordered directly through Graduate Studies.
