Registrar Update

Software upgrade will shut down Campus Solutions Friday, May 24 @ 4 PM through Tuesday, May 28 @ 8 AM. Refer to the ITS alerts page at http://its.sfsu.edu/alerts for information on impacted systems.

The Student Center, Faculty Center, Class Services, and select services on Gateway will be unavailable over the Memorial Day weekend.   This software update is necessary to improve existing processes and provide better computing solutions for the campus. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Registrar’s Office apologizes for the inconvenience and delay this will cause and we will be available during normal business hours to field questions and offer solutions, but student records, grade rosters, and other services will be down.Thank you for your patience; and for any updates on the Campus Solutions closure visit Information Technology Services ALERT website here.

SF State's Self-Service password application can be used by any student who has an SF State ID number and who attended after Spring 1985.

For help navigating the Self-Service application select a tab below.

  1. Go to sfsu.edu/reset

  2. Select Option 2.

  1. Enter SF State ID number (if ID is not known, click HERE).

Note: Current students and some new applicants may be prompted to answer security questions; if answers are not known for any reason then attempt to answer all 6 anyways (Ignore final attempt messaging).

 
 
 
 

 

  1. When on the Email reset code page click the Yes, email me a password reset code button.

Students who attended after Spring Semester 1985 have an online student account.  To access this account, an ID number and password are required. 


  1. Go to sfsu.edu/reset

  2. Select Option 2.

  1. Enter SF State ID number (if ID is not known, click HERE).

  1. Go back to sfsu.edu/reset.

Students who attended after Spring 1985 have an SF State ID number assigned to, and created for, them.  To lookup this ID number click HERE.


  1. Go to the ID lookup application.

  1. Enter social security and date of birth.

  2. Click the Submit button.

If the application is not able to locate an ID, or if the self-service password application does not work, visit our Contact Form.


  1. Fill in contact information.

  2. Select Current or Former Student

  3. Select the Gateway Login & Password Reset option.

If verification questions can not be answered then email or fax the following information. 

  • Valid Governmental issued photo ID
  • SF State ID#
  • Email Address
  • Signature

 

  1. Go to sfsu.edu/reset.

  2. Select Option 3.

  1. Enter SF State ID number and the Reset Code.  Follow the prompts:

Note: First time reset codes take 45 minutes to activate.

  1. Create 6 security questions

  2. Create New password

  3. Update email on file (if needed)

  1. Log into Gateway.

  1. Go to sfsu.edu/reset.

  2. Select Option 1.

  1. Enter ID number, old password, and new password. 

  2. Click the Change password button.
