Updates

To further limit the spread of COVID-19 within our local community, effective immediately, Registrar's Office staff will be working almost entirely remotely to provide services to our stakeholders. To reach us, please see the contact options to the right.

For any courses where you current grading option is “Letter Grades”, you will have three options for your final grade:

Option 1:

Letter Grades*
Graded (A, B, C, D, No Credit)

Note: No Credit (NC) will appear on the transcript in lieu of an F grade;

NC grades do not negatively impact your GPA
Graded (A, B, C, D, No Credit)
Note: No Credit (NC) will appear on the transcript in lieu of an F grade;
NC grades do not negatively impact your GPA
Option 2:

Letter Grades* / No Credit
A, B, No Credit

Note: NC is earned for grade of C or below
A, B, C, No Credit
Note: NC is earned for grade of D or below
Option 3:

Credit/No Credit
Credit, No Credit

Note: No Credit (NC) is earned for grades of C or below
Credit, No Credit
Note: Credit (CR) is earned for grades of C- or higher

*This includes any plus or minus grades.

For any courses where your current grading option is “Letter Grades/No Credit” you will have the choice to continue with this grading option or switch to the “Credit/No Credit” option.

If your current grading option is “Credit/No Credit”, there are no other grading options offered.

Please note that graduate students need to keep an overall GPA above 3.00

The deadlines for Summer 2020:

  • R1: Sunday, June 21
  • R2: Wednesday, July 8
  • R3: Sunday, July 26
  • R4: Wednesday, July 8
Submitting Graduation Applications & related forms/documents

Including

  1. Send completed form as attachment from your SFSU email directly to your advisor or department office. 
  2. A physical signature is not needed only if submitting forms via SFSU email.
  3. Advisor or department offices will review and forward through any required approval workflow.
  4. Once complete, the final approver (Chair) should send directly to the Registrar’s graduation email regweb@sfsu.edu.

Note: Graduate students who intend to graduate Spring or Summer 2020 should contact the Division of Graduate Studies at gradstdy@sfsu.edu

Petition paperwork submitted to another department / office on campus

Including

  1. Send completed form as attachment from your SFSU email directly to your advisor or department office. 
  2. A physical signature is not needed only if submitting forms via SFSU email.
  3. Advisor or department offices will review and forward through any required approval workflow.
  4. Once complete, the final approver should send directly to the Registrar’s records email, records@sfsu.edu.
