Transcripts

Get a transcript immediately by ordering an eTranscript, or request a hard copy with FedEx or Standard USPS mailing options. New Users and former students should use the Parchment Account link. Current Students can access the site directly through their SF State Gateway.

SF State Gateway Login

  1. Log into SF State Gateway
  2. Navigate to the LaunchPad menu
  3. Click the See all apps button
  4. Under the Tools header, click the Official Transcript tile
    • Note: The link for ordering Official Transcripts is also present under the Student Resources Menu item.

Parchment Login

  • Open Parchment's Account Login & Creation page.
  • Enter your email (personal or school)
    • Returning users will be prompted to enter a password
    • New users will be prompted to create an account

For transcript support about the below items, call (833) 261-3752:

  • Order not received (electronic or paper)
  • Issue entering recipient information
  • Issue entering payment
  • Payment questions
  • eTranscript issues (wrong recipient, password reset, the order can't be accessed)
  • Parchment Login or Account issues

The Transcript Request Form can only be used to request hard copy transcripts, if an electronic copy is needed then please order online through Parchment

  • Records from before Spring 1985 require more processing time and same-day pick-up is usually not available, please review our Records Before 1985 Tab for additional details.
  • Official transcripts are not available for first-time students until after completion of their first semester.

  1. A valid government issued photo ID
  2. A check or money order made out to San Francisco State University
In Person
  1. A valid photo ID (either valid government ID or a SFSU Student ID)
  2. A check, money order, or cash.  SF State’s Bursar's Office cannot accept credit or debit cards
    • Orders made in person can only receive two printed transcripts, if more are needed they will be mailed.
Through a 3rd Party
  1. A written and signed authorization from the requesting student
  2. A valid government issued photo ID from BOTH the third party and requesting student
  3. Check made out to San Francisco State University

If you attended Spring 1985, or earlier, then you must mail or submit in person our Transcript Request Form to the Registrar's Office.  If exact dates of attendance are not known then please use SF State's ID Lookup Application to verify if an online record is available.

Unofficial transcripts are available online in SF State's Student Center

  • Records from Spring 1985, or earlier, are generally not available online.
  • Students admitted after Spring 1985 can access their unofficial transcripts through the Student Center. If you no longer have access to the Student Center via Gateway please use the direct CS link.
  • Please disable your browser's pop-up blocker or exempt SF State sites from being blocked. To learn how to disable your browsers pop-up security visit the Wikihow reference link below.
  • If you no longer have access to the Student Center via Gateway, then please use the Alternative Student Center Access link below.
  1. Log into SF State Gateway
  2. Navigate to the LaunchPad menu
  3. Click the Student Center tile
  4. Open the other academic... drop-down menu
  5. Select Transcript: View Unofficial, click the double arrow button
  6. In Report Type select SF State Unofficial Transcript, click View Report
    • If a browser’s pop-up blocker was not disabled and the report did not open, simply select “View All Requested Reports” AFTER the pop-up blocker is disabled.
